MUSIC VIDEO: Bonobo feat. Andreya Triana & DELS – “Eyesdown”

February 8, 2012 in Audio, Videos

Here’s the first video from Bonobo’s upcoming release “Black Sands Remixed”. It features vocals from singer Andreya Triana just like the original, but adds rap vocals from London emcee DELS, which kinda take away from the original’s vibe, but still dope nonetheless.

Lightworks

February 7, 2012 in Audio, Videos

Today is the late Jay Dee’s birthday and here at RetinaDrum we thought we would take the time to share some of his music that we hold dear to us. This is tough because there is so much but we will try.

This is a fan video for one of my personal favorite beats of his, Lightworks.

FREE DOWNLOAD: Vagabonds – #FML (new EP) & Music Video

February 1, 2012 in Audio, Videos

After a few months delay, the Vagabonds are finally here with their new EP, and they’ve made it available for free download. Titled “#FML”, this nine track EP highlights the past year that E.R. and Baysiqly have experienced in their personal lives while enjoying their new-found recognition and notoriety after releasing “Good Neighbors” on New Years Day 2011.

With the lyrics detailing their experiences over the past year, “#FML” is a deep and often dark look into the lives of the Vagabonds, not sparring any details in regards to their families, financial situations, broken relationships, and their own personal highs and lows. Produced, mixed, and mastered entirely by E.R., the decision to keep everything in-house with no outside features was made in order to provide the most intimate experience possible, as E.R. and Baysiqly are known for not holding anything back in their music, no matter how personal it may seem. In conjunction with the EP, they have released a video to the intro/title track; “FML” shot inside of Nike Missile Site HM-95D in southwest Miami-Dade County (also known as the haunted Krome Detention Center/Insane Asylum).

NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Sekajipo & The Jungle – “Revolutionary Love”

January 13, 2012 in Audio, Videos

For those who don’t know who Sekajipo Genes is, this is a good place to start. I met this brother about 3 years ago, and this was actually the first song I had ever heard from him before he recorded it, and this particular song seems to have a profound effect on the people who listen to it. It seems to put a smile on people’s faces, hopefully it does to you too. Also, if you like, follow him on Twitter @SekajipoGenes
